BPD Companion is a wellness and self-help app for reflection, emotional regulation, communication support, journaling, reminders, and related tools. This Privacy Policy explains how BPD Companion collects, uses, and shares information when you use the app or contact us.

Information We Collect

We collect information you provide directly, information created through your use of the app, and technical information used to operate, secure, improve, and support BPD Companion.

Account Information

If you create an account, we collect account information such as your email address, authentication identifiers, display name, account creation date, sign-in session information, profile settings, onboarding answers, and preferences. BPD Companion uses Supabase for authentication and account-related data storage.

Information Users Enter Into the App

BPD Companion lets you enter and store personal wellness information, including check-ins, emotions, triggers, journal entries, reflections, message drafts, message rewrite outcomes, companion conversations, companion memory, emotional insights, relationship profiles, community posts and replies if you use community features, appointments, medications, movement logs, notification preferences, and support or safety-related settings.

Some information may be stored locally on your device. If you are signed in, app data may also be synced to Supabase so it can be associated with your account and available across app sessions or devices.

App Usage, Device, and Analytics Information

We collect app usage and device information such as screen views, feature usage, onboarding progress, check-in completion, distress or intensity ranges, trigger counts, exercise use, message rewrite actions, companion and journal feature events, notification interactions, subscription events, app lifecycle events, error events, platform, app identifiers, and analytics or attribution identifiers. BPD Companion uses Firebase Analytics and Singular for analytics and attribution. The app also includes Meta SDK configuration for attribution-related functionality, with automatic app event logging and advertiser ID collection disabled in the app configuration reviewed.

Subscription and Purchase Information

BPD Companion offers subscriptions and purchase options through the Apple App Store and Google Play. Apple and Google process billing and payment details through their storefronts. BPD Companion does not directly process your payment card information.

We use RevenueCat to manage subscription status, entitlement access, purchase restoration, free-trial status when applicable, renewal or expiration status, product identifiers, and related purchase events. The app may share identifiers such as a RevenueCat app user ID, Firebase app instance ID, and attribution identifiers with RevenueCat to connect purchase status and attribution information.

How We Use Information

We use information to operate BPD Companion, create and secure accounts, sync signed-in user data, provide journaling, check-in, companion, community, reminder, and subscription features, personalize insights and app experiences, generate AI-supported responses or summaries when you use those features, provide customer support, send notifications you enable, analyze and improve the app, measure attribution and subscription performance, prevent abuse, and comply with applicable obligations.

Service Providers and Third Parties

We use service providers to operate the app and related services. Verified providers in the app implementation include Supabase for authentication and database storage, RevenueCat for subscription entitlement management, Apple App Store and Google Play for purchases and billing, Firebase Analytics for app analytics, Singular for mobile attribution and analytics, Meta SDK for attribution-related functionality, and Expo or operating-system services for local and push notification functionality. AI-supported features may process the text and context you provide to generate responses, summaries, or insights.

These providers may process information according to their own terms and privacy policies. We do not sell your journal entries, check-ins, companion conversations, or similar personal wellness content.

Marketing Communications and Optional Consent

BPD Companion includes a marketing preference setting that records whether you opted in to marketing communications, the source of that choice, and consent or unsubscribe timestamps. Marketing consent is optional. We may send product updates, offers, or related communications only where permitted and based on your choices.

Unsubscribing From Marketing Emails

You can unsubscribe from marketing emails by using the unsubscribe option in the email where available or by contacting support@bpdcompanionapp.com. Transactional or service-related messages, such as account, billing, or support messages, may still be sent where necessary.

Data Retention

We retain information for as long as needed to provide the app, maintain your account, support subscriptions, comply with legal or operational requirements, resolve disputes, protect the service, and honor your choices. Local data remains on your device until you delete it in the app, uninstall the app, clear device data, or otherwise remove it. Signed-in account data and synced app data may remain in our service-provider systems until deleted through available controls or a support request, subject to operational and legal needs.

User Choices and Account Deletion

You can manage notification permissions through the app and your device settings, manage subscriptions through your Apple or Google account, restore purchases in the app, and adjust marketing preferences where available. The app includes data-deletion controls for categories such as journal entries, message history, AI companion data, emotional data, and profile or preference data. Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information. No app, network, or storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

Children and Age Eligibility

BPD Companion is not directed to children under 13. You should not use BPD Companion if you are under 13. If you are old enough to use the app but under the age of majority where you live, use it only with permission from a parent or legal guardian.

International Processing

We and our service providers may process and store information in countries other than the one where you live. Privacy and data-protection laws in those countries may differ from those in your location.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of BPD Companion after an update means the updated policy applies to your use of the app.
